PARACIN

Once a small town, Paracin develops into an industrial-economic centre of this part of Serbia with about 29.000 inhabitants. The economy of the community is based on industry whose most important representatives are the

Glass Factory,

the Cement Factory in Novi Popovac

and Branko Krsmanovic (the textile factory).

In the economic life of the community  distinguished places are also taken by the construction, confectionery and tourism activity. And even though the emphasis is on industry, a considerable number of inhabitants lives on agriculture for which excellent conditions still exist.

A settlement, a town, a city which used to offer Roman bathrooms, Turkish “hamams” to a well-meaning traveller, today Paracin offers modernly equiped hotel  Petrus and a number of inns with sport fields in places like Grza and Sisevac situated in picturesque  part of mountain Kucaj.

The extraordinary geographical position, remarkable conditions for further development and growth of industry, agriculture, trade, tourism and the readiness of its hard-working people to take advantage of all these benefits, point to an advantegeous perspective of this town and this area.

The elementary education schools cover the whole area of the community while a High School Centre is situated in the city itself.
